In 2018, the Hastings-on-Hudson Volunteer Fire Department answered a total of 1,040 calls for service. This number indicates one of our busiest years in the 142-year history of the department! The men and women of the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department continue to answer alarms at all hours of the day, and in various conditions. These calls break down as follows:
- 558 Fire Calls o 367 General Alarms o 135 Company Alarms o 46 Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Incidents o 6 Mutual Aid Assignments o 4 Rescue Calls - 482 EMS Calls
We also would like to point out our top responders for the calendar year 2018. In 2018, a total of 24 members of the Department attended over 100 calls/alarms. Our department is comprised of 140 volunteers who devote thousands of hours each year to serving the Hastings-on-Hudson community.
The top 10 fire responders for 2018 are: 1) Lieutenant Brendan Woods (E-45) – 390 alarms 2) Firefighter Kent Osborn (E-44) – 296 alarms 3) Lieutenant Justin Gunther (E-45) – 255 alarms 4) Captain Alan Golds (E-46) – 223 alarms 5) Firefighter Bryan Healy (E-44) – 215 alarms 6) Firefighter Randy Caruso (E-44) – 193 alarms 7) Deputy Chief Jeff Bannon (E-44) – 190 alarms 8) Firefighter Tom Woods (E-45) – 166 alarms 9) Firefighter Terry Buechner (E-46) – 160 alarms 10) Lieutenant Alan Harmon (E-46) – 145 alarms
The top 3 EMS responders for 2018 are: 1) EMT Amy Tilipko – 223 calls 2) EMT Sabine Reichert – 158 calls 3) EMT Cyndy Travis – 139 calls
