The Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department is proud to announce Chief Martin Gunther has been named the 2019 Chief of the Year by the Westchester County Association of Fire Chiefs. During his tenure as a Chief Officer, Marty has advanced the department by incorporating current technology, ensured the members of the department had the best equipment to guarantee their safety and pushed hard to replace the aging apparatus Rescue 100, 2183 and 2184 Command Vehicles. More than anything else, Marty is a highly respected Incident Commander at fire scenes, not only in our village, but in the surrounding communities. This recognition is well deserved and we are fortunate to have Deputy Chief Martin Gunther as a member of the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department.
