I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Hastings-on-Hudson Fire Department for their response to the motor vehicle accident on the Saw Mill River Parkway on Sunday, July 21st. Our department -- both Fire and EMS -- worked closely together with Hastings PD, Greenburgh Paramedics and the Westchester County Police under stressful conditions to provide care for the the parties involved in the accident. Tragically, there was one fatality and one injured party transported to the hospital. I would also like to thank the Westchester / Putnam Peer Counselling Team who offered their services to our members in the wake of this incident. The dedication of our all-volunteer department continues to be a source of inspiration and pride for the Chiefs - keep up the good work.
