The Chiefs of the Hastings Police and Fire Departments request your help in protecting our first responders during the COVID-19 outbreak. Please read the following notice: During this unprecedented COVID-19 (Corona Virus) outbreak, the Chiefs of both the Hastings Police and Fire Departments are requesting your help in protecting our first responders so that they can continue to serve and protect the community. In an effort to ensure safety, the responders are wearing the proper protective equipment when entering a location that residents have quarantined (mandatory or self-imposed) due to possible or confirmed COVID-19 exposure. We have established a confidential hotline phone 914-231-8988 and email hohquarantine@hastingsgov.org so residents who are affected can notify the Police and Fire Chief. Several fire companies in other municipalities within New York have been removed from service and their members quarantined, lessening their ability to provide the proper level of protection to their communities. When our Officers, EMT’s, and Firefighters respond to an affected residence, our members will observe proper protective protocols to make certain our responders are protected, allowing them to continue responding to calls for assistance. This is a totally voluntary program where you can help us to help you in a time of need. The information will only be disseminated to our responders if they are called to your specific address. If you call 911 for emergency services, please notify the dispatcher if you are quarantining, exposed to, or confirmed to have the COVID-19 (Corona Virus) so that they can notify the first responders. Both the Hastings Police and Fire Departments, along all other branches of the Village, will work together with our Hastings residents to get through this difficult time. |
