The Members of the HFD Volunteer Ambulance Corps have been at the fore front of the departments response to the Corona Virus.
Our EMT's and EMS crews are exhibiting selfless courage and compassion while treating their patients. They are responding 24 hours a day 7 days a week as usual but into a very different world. They are dealing with a situation that they never would have believed three months ago. Our EMS team is backed up by the Hastings FD when they need assistance removing a patient with symptoms that can not walk and with decontamination of the members and ambulance after the call is complete. Call times have gone from possibly 45 minutes to 3 hours start to finish. This is due to all of the precautions during the initial treatment, Delays at the ER due to volume and then decontamination. The Hastings Fire and EMS members are there for our residents when they are in need now we need something from you practice social distancing, wash your hands and stay home.

We are accepting donations of needed supplies such as N95 masks, gloves, protective Tyvex suits, hand sanitizer, and Clorox or Lysol wipes. To contact us click on the contact us button on the upper right side of this website.

Looks like a great group effort by HVAC and HVFD. Makes me want to be back active with you all, but I'm stuck here in LG. Was thinking maybe contact some of the new companies in the old Ciba-Giegy plant if they have any PPE they could donate. Every little bit helps and God protect our selfless volunteers!
