Members of the Hastings on Hudson Fire Department responded to a request for assistance with the Greenwood Lake wild fire. On Tuesday evening November 6th. Engine 46 with five members of the Hastings FD and one from the Ardsley FD covered a 7 PM to 7 AM night shift protecting homes and residents, water supply and putting out flair ups and hotspots. The night started out slow until the wind picked up around 10 PM. From that time until 5:30 AM the crew was working non stop with brush trucks from Lumber Land and Middleville Fire Departments climbing the steep slopes putting out numerous flair ups and hot spots until the shift was over and other departments from all over New York State relieved us.
